When spring comes around and the weather starts to get warm, I always find myself making my way outside more. It’s the perfect time of year for a little laid-back picnic, and after a little exercise a picnic is the perfect way to unwind. Personally, I like to head outside for a walk or jog, then spread out a blanket and relax with a healthy snack and something refreshing, like Aquafina Sparkling, which has 0 calories, 0 sugar, and 0 artificial flavors. I know I’ve mentioned before that I stopped drinking soft drinks a few years ago, but I don’t miss them anymore, thanks to the wonderful flavors of sparkling water that are available these days. A little springtime picnic is the perfect way to spend time relaxing with friends, too. While I take my husband on occasion, most of my evening walks are with friends, and are the perfect way to catch up and unwind after a long day at work. And of course we all want to treat ourselves when we’re with friends, but when we’re getting together to do something healthy it’s nice to have a healthy snack that’s still a treat. That being said, I find a perfect snack to pair with my Aquafina Sparkling to be crisp, fresh veggies and hummus. To make it an easier picnic-style snack, I like to make these little open-faced hummus & veggie pitas. They’re quick, easy, and healthy…plus they are perfect paired with a refreshing can of Aquafina Sparkling.

Here’s what you need:

Mini Pitas
Hummus
Raw Vegetables (I used Cucumber, Mini Bell Peppers, and Carrots)

All you have to do is spoon a little hummus in the center of a mini pita, top it with the vegetables, and you’re done! If you’d rather mix your vegetables together, you can even chop them up into a sort of “chopped salad” and sprinkle it on top instead of single vegetables.
